Tony made a good point on the mailing list today - although all speakers (apart from Graham on ‘WordPress in Education) are confirmed on the latest running order, (also posted on the blog here) we don’t currently have any back-up speakers or presentations in the event of someone having to drop out of their presentation at the last minute. So, the question is - do you want to be a back-up speaker at WordCamp UK 2008?
I’m pretty sure all topics on the Wiki are already covered - but there are many areas of WordPress development left un-tapped! In the true spirit of the group organisation of this event - this is your chance to get involved! You may now have had the time to think about this properly, or maybe thought it was ‘too late’ to get involved… but here’s your chance! Of-course, if everything goes to plan you may not actually need to present this, but on the other hand - you could end up being the star turn at WordCamp UK 2008!!
Presenting at WordCamp gives you a great opportunity to increase the share of knowledge between the delegates at WordCamp UK. It also obviously gives you more increased exposure to delegates of your skills, with associated benefits.
This would require you to be prepared with a 30-60min presentation on any relevant WordPress related topic. Go take a look at the wiki to see if you have any other ideas that have not been covered and GET INVOLVED!

I could do a session on plugins I consider should be part of a standard WP installation - at least they’re always part of my standard installations. Could create good debate!
That’s a great topic suggestion - and would no-doubt produce some VERY lively debate! Everyone has their favourites - I know I do!
Its now been posted to the wiki.
It may be a lot to ask someone to prepare a 60 minute backup preso - but - it’s not too much for a few people to prepare a few micro-sessions of 10-20 minutes each. We could probably easily fill an hour or two in case of dropouts, and it would share the work load!
60 mins is a-lot of time to present for, no arguments (I’m only presenting for 30mins!).
I’m sure someone mentioned about a WordPress 2.6 presentation - and seeing as it’s just come out that seems like a great gap-filler!
