Running order updated - new essential plugins session introduced

A new running order has been posted to the Wiki for WordCamp UK 2008, and I’ve updated the blog here accordingly. The only change to the previous version is that the session on ‘WordPress in Education’ has now been replaced by a new session called ‘Essential Plugins‘, being presented by Richard Williams.

Thanks for stepping up to the task Richard - It’s currently scheduled to be the first main presentation on Saturday at 10am - and is a great topic to kick the event off with and should provide some lively debate during the whole conference, as everyone has their favourite plugins!

Backup speakers - WordCamp UK 2008 NEEDS YOU!!

Tony made a good point on the mailing list today - although all speakers (apart from Graham on ‘WordPress in Education) are confirmed on the latest running order, (also posted on the blog here) we don’t currently have any back-up speakers or presentations in the event of someone having to drop out of their presentation at the last minute. So, the question is - do you want to be a back-up speaker at WordCamp UK 2008?

I’m pretty sure all topics on the Wiki are already covered - but there are many areas of WordPress development left un-tapped! In the true spirit of the group organisation of this event - this is your chance to get involved! You may now have had the time to think about this properly, or maybe thought it was ‘too late’ to get involved… but here’s your chance! Of-course, if everything goes to plan you may not actually need to present this, but on the other hand - you could end up being the star turn at WordCamp UK 2008!!

Running order updated

A new running order has been posted to the Wiki by Tony, and I’ve updated the blog here accordingly. A couple of things have been shuffled around, the main change being the ‘CSS and HTML for WordPress beginners’ session being dropped. Sadly, Holly is not sure she can attend.

This has been replaced by a session on ‘WordPress in Education’ by Graham Hallas - welcome on-board Graham!
