WordPress 2.6 poll - what’s your plan?

With WordPress 2.6 likely to be launched just before WordCamp UK 2008 - we thought it might be interesting to see how you feel about this, and what your upgrade plan is, so a new poll has been created!

There is some discussion that there may be a switch-around in presentations to showcase WordPress 2.6 to delegates at the conference… but Tony is under enough pressure at the moment to sort out the schedule, so we will see!

WordPress 2.6 is likely to introduce some exciting new developments, including the ability to ‘roll back’ and track all changes made to your blog (like a wiki), Google Gears support, and a hile bunch of other exciting stuff!

So, why not let us know what your plan is with WordPress 2.6 in the poll below!

What's your WordPress 2.6 usage/upgrade plan?

  • I'll upgrade as soon as possible (46%, 22 Votes)
  • I was using a beta/am using the public release already! (21%, 10 Votes)
  • I'll wait a while because of plugin/code compatibility (21%, 10 Votes)
  • I'll wait until the 2.6.1 upgrade (13%, 6 Votes)

Total Voters: 48

I’ll probably roll it out immediately. I’m not using many plugins though I am using premium themes on m 3 sites, so I’ll check those are fully compatible. Most premium developers update their premium themes very up to date as any problems lead to lack of sales.

I use WordPress.com for my personal blog. Everywhere else I run the latest version in trunk.

Most of my blogs I’ll be upgrading as soon as 2.6RC1 is out, but a couple of the more complex ones will need a bit of testing first to make sure everything is going to work properly… by which-time 2.6.1 will probably be out!

I’ve tested WP 2.6 beta 1,2 and 3 on my test server… Today, I decided to give it a try and installed WP 2.6 beta-3 on my live blog… I was too curious! Fortunately, I was not disappointed… It works like a charm!
